Queen Mary II Ship
Christy won the The Gordon Peter Pickard Travel Award when at the Royal College of Art, to travel transatlantic on the QMii cruise ship, England to New York. Her life up until going to the Royal College was similar to most students and as a consequence her outlook differed. When she won the prize she had proposed that she travel on a ship with octogenarians and septagenerians enjoying retirement. She spent her days socialising eating and playing Bridge. She met many interesting people from all parts of the world. The decadence and affluence on the ship was glorious. She enjoyed bobbing up and down on the water in this large vessel full of conversation.
When she returned to dryland she said about drawing her memories. She had met Amish people singing international Bridge players, couples that had just got married and people that spent their whole life on a ship.
